Southern Music Company celebrated the Grand Opening at our new location on Austin Highway on Saturday, October 14, 2000. There were live music performances, free food, and more. We want to thank everyone for attending!
Southern Music Company has successfully moved! As reported on July 1, 1999, by the San Antonio Express News, local television (KMOL and KSAT), and radio (KTSA), Southern Music Company had to move to a new location in May 2000! For almost 50 years, Southern Music Company's three-story, 30,000 square foot store has been a landmark at Broadway and Jones Avenue just north of downtown San Antonio, Texas. Southern Music Company was closed for moving from Saturday, May 20th, through Monday, May 29th, 2000. No orders or back orders were processed during this period. It has been estimated that over 300 tons of music, shelving, and furniture were moved. View pictures during the move.
